Activity 1

Instructions

5 minutes

Students create a flowchart for finding a job. They may be as creative and visual as they like. Remind them that they may not be successful in getting the first job they apply for.

Steps that could be included (in no particular order):

  • Writing a cover letter

  • Searching for a job online

  • Visiting local businesses

  • Writing a resume

  • Asking people to be referees

  • Deciding to look for a job

  • Having an interview

  • Signing a contract

  • Not being offered a job.
